Hi… I’m Meg Duerksen.

My husband & I own The Whatever Craft House. We moved to this house in 2004 with our 5 children and for almost 9 years we fully renovated every inch of it. We never planned on leaving but life is full of surprises. We moved to a smaller community in 2013. We couldn’t imagine saying goodbye to this amazing place so we decided to turn it into a space for gathering friends, families, and communities providing a space for rest and inspiration.

I host my own creative retreats here a few times a year called Camp Create. I’ve also helped others with their retreats. And of course, I bring my own girlfriends and family here for getaways too. It’s such a great space for relaxing, crafting, entertaining or just hanging out in your jammies all weekend. We hope you get to enjoy time at The Whatever Craft House soon!

In addition to running The Whatever Craft House we are continually following our kids around to various sporting events or taking care of our grandson. In 2017 we became a foster family. It’s been such a wonderful experience for our whole family. Best thing we’ve ever done and wish we’d done it much much sooner.

We recently moved to a 1929 fixer upper and that will keep us busy for another decade easily. Thankfully we love the process and the creativity it provides all while being very close to my husband’s job.
